Bibi Bielat Photo & Travel Blog

There has been some interest from friends and family for me to share my photography as well as my art. I am very flattered by this but still not quite how I feel about calling myself a “photograper”. I love making photos, I love to travel and I love to share, so for now I’ll just leave it at that and graciously accept the compliment. http://bibibielatphotography.com/

Good day in the studio

Art is more than just making lovely paintings, there is a lot of business that needs to be done. Today, I’m taking the painters hat off and putting my business hat on… Updating website with new work and old work, creating a book to send to galleries and interior decorators, and the ever looming task of getting ready for tax day. I can guarantee there will be a glass of wine waiting for me at the end of this day!

Successful Event

Wow, last night was a whirlwind… I hosted 40-50 university students for an Urban entrepreneurship and multi-media program. I wasn’t expecting to have to give a speech but I deeply enjoyed talking about my experience as an artist and living in a work/live loft and being surrounded by a supportive art community. I’m living my dream here, it was rewarding to share my enthusiasm with a group of young entrepreneurs. The students had such great energy, they really care and want to make a difference, their exuberance was contagious and I look forward... Read The Rest →

Sunscreen

So, the thing about process art is not being able to control the outcome… Yesterday was cold and gray and my paints needed a dose of zoloft, everything kept coming out really dark. Today is sunny (not really warm) but I have the door to the studio open and paintings strewn about in various stages of rusting/patina-ing. This one painting is getting a direct shot of sun and while not a desired effect, it is turning white where the sun is hitting it. I guess it’s time to add another... Read The Rest →

Works in process

It’s wonderful being back in the studio and painting. I have 6 small paintings in progress, well, 5 actually, I put the leg of the easel thru one canvas, so that is a repair project. I hope to have them done by tomorrow because I was just invited to host an open house for 40-50 Urban entrepreneurship and marketing students. I also have 3 large canvases and 3 medium canvases prepped with texture and ready for paint. The nice thing about process art is there is time in between applications for... Read The Rest →

Nashville gets top billing on visits, I love and miss y’all! I’ve been working on a few things here… I’ve had several requests/suggestions to include my photography as... Read The Rest →

Ready to launch

T minus 5 hours to launch. We’ll it’s not really a “launch”, the site is live but I just haven’t told more than a handful of people about it. I suppose that sometime this evening I will spread the word, I will annoy my facebook, tumblr, twitter friends with posts about my new website but they will just have to deal with it. I’m happy with my new little website and I can’t wait to share it. Just a few more little tweaks to the content and it’s launch time!
